Maine summers are magical places of wonder, especially for a young boy during the 1950s and ’60s, skilled in sailing Casco Bay. Such was life for Peter Macdonald Blachly.
His book, The Stone from Halfway Rock: A Boy’s Adventures on the Coast of Maine blends diverse aspects of coastal life with compelling true stories that invite us to journey with him. Peter’s childhood, so vividly retold, also reminds us how important it is to connect with the natural world.
Peter is a singer-songwriter and a guitarist at Hollowbody Electric Band In his previous life he was the Executive Director at Maine Alliance for Arts Education He studied Environmental Advocacy and Organizing at Antioch University, New England.
Currently he lives in Bath, Maine and is working on other books and songs.
