Holly Barry is a graduate of Wheaton College, the Institute of Children’s Literature, and is a member of the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators. She also studied at Harvard University and the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD).
She has published numerous articles, pieces about craft and cooking, in a variety of award-winning children’s magazines.
Her first children’s book, The Witch and the Long Leather Bag (2000), is a traditional Irish fairy tale retold.
Recently, she created a line of greeting cards called New England Cards using collage, block printing, and photography. Holly is presently working on her third nonfiction children’s book about a critically endangered species, with the working title The Mysterious Leatherback Turtle.
Holly resides in Barrington, Rhode Island.
