Hubert C. Kueter, born 1930 in Breslau, Germany, received his PhD in Germanic languages and literature at the University of Michigan. He taught German language and literature at Colby College from 1965 to 1997.
During the first ten years at Colby, he enjoyed working part time as a certified ski instructor at Sugarloaf USA.
Following a lifelong interest in good cuisine, he opened the Johann Sebastian B Restaurant in Oakland, Maine, of which he was the owner/manager/chef from 1975 to 2003.
He wrote a semi-biographical novel about how he escaped capture during WWII in Germany – and he was half German. His book My Tained Blood can be found on a website dedicated to raising awareness abou the Holocaust. Here
